Mrs. Redeker (2nd Grade)

Welcome to Second Grade!               picture of teacher

Second grade is an exciting year in your child's life and I am grateful in being apart of that. Your child will work on improving reading fluency and comprehension. His/her math skills will include adding and subtracting multi-digit numbers, telling time, and working with money.

I would like to share with you a little of my background with you.  I was born and raised in Randolph.  I went to Ripon College, there I majored in educational studies and social studies with being certified to teach 6-12.  After graduating I spent a year substitute teaching in many different school districts which prompted me to go back and get certified in early childhood and elementary education. I landed my first teaching job in four year old kindergarten.  After a year of teaching four year old kindergarten I was given the opportunity to move up to fourth grade.  I taught fourth grade for five years and then went down to third grade for three years.  I then transitioned to fifth grade for three years, and since I like a challenge I moved down to second grade.  All this movement has allowed me to really see the scope and sequence that happens within our teaching and standards.  I received my Master's degree from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. I am blessed with an outgoing family.  My husband and I have our hands full with our two rambunctious children, Brennen (9) and Brielle (7).
