Pirate’s Plan for Safer Sailing
July 23, 2020
With input from both our staff and families plus guidance from local, state and national health departments, it was decided at the July School Board meeting that the Fall River School District will be open five days a week this fall, with many safety precautions in place. Parents and students who are not ready for in person learning at this time may request that they start the school year with online learning provided by the school district. A major part of the increased sanitation will be two sanitizing machines that can quickly clean a room or bus. Out of respect for others, masks or shields will only be required when six foot social distancing can’t be maintained. Masks or shields will be provided by the district for anyone who needs one. The district will use a number of strategies to reduce the amount of time that students and staff are unable to socially distance. One of these strategies is that the middle & high schools will operate on a modified block schedule with no late starts. Students will attend their normal classes, periods 1-4 on one day and then periods 5-8 the second day. Classes will now be held for approximately 90 minutes every other day instead of 45 minutes each day. The approved school reopening plan will be re-evaluated after the first quarter grading period.
If you have any questions, please contact a member of the Fall River administrative team.

Students and staff riding the bus will be required to wear a mask or face shield when they cannot maintain six-foot social distancing.
