TYPES OF REFERRALS
There are three types of referral forms:
Parent(s) of students new to the district
Parents of students who have been in the district
Parents are encouraged to discuss their child’s performance with the teacher before submitting a referral. Forms can then be filled out and returned to the school office. Once a referral is received, the Learning Support Teacher will follow-up, and start the screening process. This will include talking with all of the child’s teachers, getting background information from the parent(s), assessing the student’s skills, scoring the identification scales ,and analyzing how well the current curriculum and instruction are meeting the student’s academic need.
