Becoming a board member and serving the public is a tremendous responsibility. School board members must have the ability and knowledge to set policy and to approve budgets and programs that become the basis for operating the school district.
School board members must also commit the time to attend regular and special board meetings, committee meetings and workshops. Workshops help board members stay informed on issues that affect residents in this district.
To begin to help you gain more understanding of this role, a “Guide for Candidates” booklet published by WASB (Wisconsin Association of School Boards) is included as a link on our web-site.
Also on our web-page is a board member reflection tool. If you are interested in running for a seat on the board, please take time to read through and reflect on this information/content.
In this important time in public education, attracting quality board members to service is critical. Thank you for your interest in the Fall River School District.
